Begining in 2009 and with the support from MAAA, Lao Advancement Organization of America (LAO America), nutritious food to elders (age 60 and up) program has been very successful and appreciated widely within the Lao Community. Each day, there were 35 to 45 elders among those who had registered, who came to eat lunch together.
This year (2011) LAO America received grant from VOA after MAAA there were lot of elders interested in participating in the program. As to the survey early this year (1QTR) there are 89 elders who were already registered in the nutrition program. Among the participants, women almost double the number of men 60% and 39% respectively (please refer to the results of the survey's structure).

Dear Supporter
First LAO America Board of Directors and Staff would like to express our appreciation and thankfulness for your past financial, spiritual support and your valuable time to help LAO America come to this point.
As you probably know Lao Cultural Center which is the only of its kind ever in America which owned by the Lao Community is the only one place that reflects the Lao Art. This center elevates our self proud and valor to all of us.
During the past 23 years, LAO America has provided the Lao Community in all kinds of services that meet the needs of our community in both good and bad time. LAO America can not be able to provide the valuable services any longer with your support.
As a former or current client of LAO America, supporters, students or concerned individual, you have seen what we do and understand how important it is for Lao and Hmong families in Minnesota. We know that times are hard financially but I am writing today to ask for your help.
Our goal for this fund drive is for all of our stake holders to financially contribute what they can, whether it is $10 or $100. This money will allow us to strengthen the programs we currently have and hopefully bring back some programs we have had to put on hold due to lack of money.
Please consider donating whatever amount you can to show your support for LAO America and your appreciation for its programs.
Sincerely,
Khao Insixiengmay
Executive Director
