The Dangers of Club Drugs

On Saturday, February 26, 2005 LAO America was the site for a drug awareness program. Carol Ackley was again the presenter.

The students watched a video about the dangers of club drugs. Throughout the video a mother who lost a daughter to an accidental drug overdose.

The video was followed up by a card game that illustrated the risks of trying drugs. Each students was given a face card that determined the upper limit of their tolerence. They were then given a card face down. then they were allowed to take additional cards, but the could go over the value of the face card, if they did, they died of an overdose.

Several variations were played to illustrate the genetic and environmental resk factors of using drugs.
